Join Adam Sims (Professional International Windsurfer) and Flo Ragossnig (International Windsurfing Coach) on the ultimate windsurf Surfari. You’ll travel through Namibia visiting iconic landscapes, windsurfing mind-blowing spots and even sailing at a place never before visited by a windsurfer.

In this once in a lifetime adventure you will get to master your skills with world class coaching from two highly experienced up to the minute instructors. Utilising the latest technology, your coaching will be brought to you with 4K video analysis, full HD drone footage and instant on-water full HD video feedback. During the evenings you’ll get to laugh at the thrills and spills of the day over a perfect sundowner beer and a meal served up for you right outside of your fully camping equipped 4×4 Toyota Hilux pick-up truck. Combining plenty of windsurfing with a scattering of sightseeing, we will visit some of the most famous landmarks on Earth, you’ll get to see ancient rock paintings, multi-coloured sand dunes and breathtaking sunsets.

Itinerary **

Day 1



Meet and greet at Asco Car Hire 9am

Travel to Spitzkoppe National Park.

Enjoy an evening BBQ which is prepared for you whilst you stroll around the world famous ancient rock paintings. This will be the first opportunity to see some of the local wildlife up close, including Zebra, Springbok and much more…

Day 2

Wake up to a morning coffee and a heart-warming breakfast in this surreal landscape.

Drive to Swakopmund for a light lunch and some sightseeing and then on to Walvis Bay. For those eager an advance party will move on to Walvis Bay a little quicker to make the most of the afternoon wind.

Day 3 – 7

This will be the windsurfing side of your trip where you can enjoy all the latest coaching techniques from two top level windsurf athletes. Forecast dependant we will change location daily between the local windsurf spots and then wrap up with a video de-brief over dinner.

Spot Guide:

Walvis Bay – A past proving ground for the fastest windsurfers in the world, this stunning natural harbour provides constant and reliable driving winds with a waist deep sandy bottom to fine tune all your windsurfing techniques. From duck gybes to early planing and the latest freestyle moves to speed sailing, we’ll have you covered to ensure you make progress on this trip.

Sandwich Bay

Sandwich Bay – Situated an hour out of Walvis Bay, we will take a one day excursion to this breathtaking lagoon. You can choose to windsurf within the sheltered waters of this natural harbour below sky high sand dunes or just off the front where small ramps await those wishing to take to the air.

Donkey Bay – For the more adventurous and those wishing to tick one off the bucket list, Donkey Bay provides one of the cleanest longest lefts in the world. A perfect wave that peels for over a kilometre awaits.

Day 8

We will kick off early with the longest drive of the trip ahead, passing through the Naukluft National Park with its wide open planes and impressive game we’ll end up in Soussvlei to watch the sand dunes change colour as the sun sets. Capped off with a hearty feast of local delicacies, you’ll have a chance to sample food you have never tried before in this all you can eat buffet.

Day 9

An easy start to the day followed by a drive through the Gaub River Canyon and the Gamsberg Pass before settling overnight at what feels like the centre of the Universe in the Gamsberg National Park, a world famous star-gazing area.

Day 10

Depending on your travel arrangements you’ll get the chance to start the day at a slow pace or shoot off and return your vehicle to Asco Car Hire just a short hours drive away in Windhoek. We’ll have two leaving parties to suit you.

** As our trip has a strong focus on the wind we will ensure that we don’t miss it. As a result this planned itinerary could change accordingly. Nonetheless we will visit the sites mentioned.

Equipment Hire

For those interested we can arrange equipment hire for you with one of the following agreements. All equipment will be brand new and you will be able to make your selection from the Patrik Diethelm and Sailloft Hamburg range. All hire and kit orders must be arranged within 3 months of departure.

Straight hire –  This will be a set charge of £350 per set. A set of equipment will be made up of one board, 3 sails, one boom and two masts. Price will include a subsidy towards transport of the gear between the EU and Windhoek.

Hire to purchase – Equipment hire will be £350 per set with the agreement that you will purchase the equipment. After payment has been made your entire hire fee will be refunded to you as a discount off your purchase. This can be done prior to, or during, travel.

    Truly inspiring stuff! Would it be possible for locals to join the group on the sailing and coaching legs?

    The Namibian Kite and Windsurfing Club, based in Walvis Bay, would like to get some members involved.
